Fayette Savings Holds Grand Opening for New Banking Center in Fayetteville

Fayette Savings Bank (FSB) held a ribbon cutting at their new banking center in Fayetteville on Tuesday, May 12. Among those pictured include Fayette Savings Bank President and CEO Wade Mozisek holding the left side of the ribbon. To the left of him is the bank’s Chairman of the Board David Zapalac. Right of Mozisek are FSB-Fayetteville employees Nicole Davis, Tammy Beseda, banking center manager Sarah Bertsch, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce President Ted Jones and Chamber officials Debbie Lincke, Jessica Dennis and Julie Stroup. Among the others in attendance were FSB board members, officers and staff along with numerous Fayetteville community members.

Fayette Savings Bank held a grand opening for their new banking center in Fayetteville on Tuesday, May 12. The new bank is located at 212 W. Fayette St. and was opened for business on February 19, 2026.

Fayette Savings President and CEO Wade Mozisek said his company decided to invest in Fayetteville after some recent changes in the town’s banking environment.

Industry BancShares, which owned Fayetteville Bank, sold to Mississippibased Cadence Bank in July 2025. Then in October, Ohiobased Huntington Bank announced its plan to acquire Cadence Bank in the first quarter of this year.

“There was a locally chartered bank in the Fayetteville area that was acquired by a much larger entity,” Mozisek said. “We have a lot of customers from the Fayetteville community. Since they were losing their chartered community bank that had been in that community for so many years, we knew it was an opportunity to give Fayetteville back something that they had lost.”

Fayette Savings Bank is leasing a building at the corner of SH 159 and Fayette St. in Fayetteville and is operating out of that location for now. Fayette Savings Bank also purchased property across from the baseball field on SH 159.

“We want to make it clear to the community that we’re not just testing the waters,” Mozisek said. “We are committed to the community. We are going to build a bank in Fayetteville.”

Mozisek said Fayette Savings hired Sarah Bertsch to lead the Fayetteville team. Bertsch is a 25-year veteran in the banking buisness and lives in the community of Fayetteville. Fayette Savings Bank also hired a pair of familiar Fayetteville faces to work at the new banking center: Tammy Beseda and Nicole Davis.

Mozisek praised Fayetteville- based contractor Josh Vitek with Vitek Construction for quickly renovating the leased space.

“We knew if we were going to do this, we had to act fast,” Mozisek said. “We called Josh and told him we wanted this bank up and running within 45 days. He did an awesome job. He was happy to jump onboard and get the job done, and get a community bank back in his town.”

Mozisek also thanks local architect Joanna Prihoda Rogers for drawing up plans on short notice. In addition, he praised the Fayette Savings Bank staff in La Grange for on-boarding the new employees, who are now based in Fayetteville.

“The new employees were trained in La Grange a couple of months prior to the February 19 bank opening, so they knew our system,” he said.

The new Fayetteville banking center offers a full line of banking services for both lending and depository needs.

“With locations now in La Grange, Flatonia, Schulenburg, Weimar and Fayetteville – all within a 30-mile radius – we feel this exemplifies our commitment and strength in relationship banking,” Mozisek said. “Being locally concentrated, we are able to provide a level of personal service that’s hard to match in bigger markets. The communities we serve are not markets – they’re home – places we live, places we’re vested in and support.”

“What’s important to us is simple: relationships, trust and taking care of our neighbors,” he added. “When you walk in, you won’t be just another account number. You’re someone we want to get to know, call you by name, answer your questions and be genuinely invested in your success.”
