Fayette County Retired Teachers Participate at TRTA Day at The Capitol

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association (FCRTA) made a significant presence at the Texas Retired Teachers Association’s (TRTA) Day at the Capitol. This annual event is a cornerstone for retired educators to engage directly with lawmakers and advocate for their retirement security. During the event, Senator Joan Huffman proposed a resolution to recognize March 24-28, as Texas Retired Teachers Week at the State Capitol. This recognition underscores the importance of retired educators and their lifelong contributions to public education.

The FCRTA members also had the distinct honor of meeting and taking a picture with Senator Lois Kolkhorst, adding a personal touch to their advocacy efforts.
