The 2026 Fayette County Aggie Muster was held April 21 at the KJT Hall in Ammannsville. The Fayette County A&M Club welcomed over 160 guests to honor those Aggies that have passed since April 21, 2025.

Muster chairman, Nicole Gabler ‘17 opened the meeting by welcoming all in attendance. President Tim Pylant ’84 led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Texas Pledge. After a short business meeting, Father Chris Smith ’10, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church in La Grange shared some of his favorite moments from his time at A&M and then led the blessing.

Before dinner was served, the oldest graduates present were honored by being called to be first in line. This year the two were Vernon L. “Chick” Hohensee ‘57 of Fayetteville and William L. “Bill” Appelt ‘58 of Hallettsville.

Muster speaker was Rodney Franklin ‘91, Director of Texas State Parks. After a short break to announce silent auction winners, Chairman Nicole read the Muster Tradition, the hall was darkened, and roll call for the absent began. Roll Call included 13 names whose relatives or friend answered, “Here,” and came forward to receive a lit candle. After a period of silence, Silver Taps was performed by Lauren Rusek, a student from La Grange High School.

The Spirit of Aggieland was sung by all, and Chairman Nicole closed the 2026 Fayette County Muster.

The Muster Committee appreciates sponsors, silent auction donors, game donors and all who supported the program with their attendance.
