Fayette Community Theatre Launches Capital Campaign

Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) is excited to announce the launch of a capital campaign to renovate 253 W. Travis Street, a beloved historic building downtown, creating a permanent new home for live performance, creativity, and community connection.

To support this project, FCCT has established a designated fund at the Greater Fayette Community Foundation in La Grange. This partnership ensures that every gift made toward the renovation will be securely managed and directed exclusively to the theater project. By working with the Foundation, FCCT is able to provide donors with a trusted, tax-deductible giving option while strengthening community investment in the arts. Kicking off the effort, FCCT has received a generous $100,000 matching gift from a committed supporter. Gifts between $500 and $5,000 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact of each gift and moving the project closer to its fundraising goal.

Plans for the project are already underway with architecture firm OPA Design Studio of Austin, and early design concepts are in development. Detailed renderings will be available soon to share the vision for this transformative space.

“This building has stood as a landmark in La Grange for generations, and now it will take on new life as a place for arts, education, and gathering,” said Heather Barthelme, Executive Director. “With the support of our community, we can create a welcoming space that nurtures local talent and provides access to the performing arts for all.”

The renovated venue will provide a fully equipped theater space, expanded opportunities for arts education, and a cultural hub for the region. Once completed, it will ensure that FCCT can continue to serve audiences and artists for decades to come.

Community members, businesses, and arts supporters are invited to be part of this historic project. Contributions can be made online at www.faycotheatre.com or by contacting Barthelme at (979) 702-9368 or info@faycotheatre. com.
