Sheriff’s Report
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of January 2025.
Deputy Mark Pritchard was dispatched to an address on S. Kirtley Road in reference to criminal trespass. A female subject was arrested for public intoxication. Deputy Pritchard also responded to a restaurant in Round Top in reference to a disturbance. A female was arrested for public intoxication.
Deputy Wesly Arrison was dispatched to an address on Davis Road near West Point in reference to trespassing. Two male subjects were arrested for criminal trespass. Deputy Arrison also responded to Anders Daniels Road in reference to shots fired. Deputy Arrison was able to locate the vehicle, which fled. After a short pursuit, the suspects fled on foot. They were all later apprehended. These subjects are juveniles and are facing numerous charges.
Deputy Jason Fowler took a report of a criminal trespass in the La Grange area, the case was forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office. Deputy Fowler also assisted with the shots fired call on Anders Daniels Road.

Deputy Jose Mosqueda re-sponded to a business in Carmine in reference to criminal mischief. A report was taken.
Deputy Jared Michalec responded to a fire in the La Grange area. A pump house caught fire. A report was completed for the property owner. Deputy Michalec also took a scam report where an elderly male was being scammed.
Deputy Joe Gonzales responded to a residence on Old Plum Highway in reference to a suspicious person. The subject had illegally entered a residence. The female subject was arrested for criminal trespass. Deputy Gonzales also responded to a business in Ellinger in reference to an industrial accident. A male subject was pronounced deceased on scene.
Deputy Duane Meagher took a report of a property dispute. The case was forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office. Deputy Meagher also took a burglary of a motor vehicle report in the 2000 block of Valentine Road. The vehicle was broken into, but nothing was taken.
Deputy James Ulbig responded to a gunshot victim in Ammannsville. It was learned that the wound was self-inflicted. A male subject was declared deceased. Deputy Ulbig also took multiple property damage reports, including two mailboxes that were damaged in separate incidents.
Deputy Chris Stansberry was dispatched to a welfare check near La Grange. A male subject was found to have committed aggravated assault against a female. The male subject was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Deputy Stansberry also responded to an inquest on FM 609.
Deputy Herman Olvera responded to a business on East US Highway 90 near Schulenburg in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. A wallet was taken from the vehicle. Deputy Olvera also responded to a fire on an oil pad south of Flatonia. A property damage report was completed, the fire was believed to have been caused from a bad gasket.
Sergeant Charles Jobb took an inquest report on FM 1115 near Waelder. Sergeant Jobb also took a property damage report that occurred at a local airport. The fence was damaged by a truck.
Sergeant Ron Naumann took a theft report that occurred at an antiques venue on State Highway 237 near Round Top.
Jail Administrator Holly Smith reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 49 individuals for the month of Jan. Smith reports that the Jail Staff transported five individuals to Texas Department of Criminal Justice Facilities throughout the State to begin serving their sentences for crimes committed in Fayette County.
