Family Violence Call Leads to Arrest, LGPD Responds to Burglary

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 1-8.

Family Violence

On May 6, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of Connie St. in regard to a disturbance. One subject was arrested.

Assault

On May 7, Officer John Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Jefferson in regard to a male subject that was not leaving the location. Officer arrived on location and spoke with several subjects. A male subject was arrested for assault.

Accident

On May 4, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call of a onevehicle accident in the 1400 block of Carroll Ln.

On May 6, Officer Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the intersection of S. Jefferson and W. Milam for a two-vehicle accident. A citation was issued.

On May 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business in regard to a two-vehicle accident.

On May 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of FM 609 in regard to a two-vehicle accident. Citation was issued.

Animal Complaint

On May 1, Office Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of Eckel for dogs not letting subject out of vehicle. Officer arrived and the dogs ran off.

On May 4, Officer Brett Meinardus responded to the 400 block of S. Franklin for two dogs that were out. Officer returned dogs to the residence.

On May 5, Anderson responded to the 100 block of N. Washington for a dog left unattended inside of a vehicle. The officer checked the location and the vehicle could not be located.

Burglary of Vehicle

On May 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a burglary of a vehicle.

Civil Matter

On May 3, Officer David Mohr responded to the 300 block of N. Monroe for dispute over animals. Officer assisted in finding a resolution.

Disturbance

On May 1, Anderson received a call of a couple arguing at W. Pearl and N. Washington.

Forgery

On May 4, Meinardus took a report of checks that were stolen and passed in La Grange.

Harassment

On May 2, Officer Thomas Keeney responded to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe for a report of harassment.

Reckless Driving

On May 1, Meinardus took a report form caller that reported a vehicle speeding up and down the road in the 600 block of E Pearl.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On May 1, Currington checked on a suspicious vehicle next to a parked bucket truck in the 1400 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business. It was employees checking on their trucks.

On May 1, Anderson received a call in regards to a suspicious person in the 800 block of Sherrer.

On May 2, Mohr received a call of an abandoned vehicle in a ditch in the 700 block of W. Colorado.

On May 3, Mohr received a call of someone who said an unidentified person knocked on the door during the night in the 1100 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business.

On May 3, Keeney responded to the 100 block of E. Colorado in response to a suspicious person looking into cars in the parking lot.

On May 3, Maxwell was dispatched to Bluffview in regard to a suspicious person.

On May 3, Keeney responded to the 100 block of E. Charles in response to a suspicious person knocking on doors of residents.

On May 6, Keeney responded to the 1200 block of Hwy. 159 in response to a suspicious vehicle.

Theft

On May 5, Anderson received a call in regard to possible stolen property in the 100 block of W. Fannin.

Welfare Check

On May 2, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Live Oak in regard to a welfare check.

On May 7, Keeney responded to the 1000 block of N. Jefferson in response to a woman walking down the road.

Miscellaneous

On May 1, Anderson received a call in regard to a 911 hang up in the 300 block of N. Washington.

On May 2, Currington was dispatched to the 2000 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for alarm. Winds from incoming front blew the tables and umbrellas over setting off the alarm.

On May 2, Keeney spoke with a caller in the 300 block of Woodhollow about narcotics complaint.

On May 2, Keeney responded to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for possible fraudulent use of a check.

On May 3, Keeney spoke to complainant at the police station in regard to a possible scam.
