Faith Lutheran High Planning Annual Oktoberfest
Faith Lutheran High School will hold their annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 22. New this year will be “The Battle of The Brew,” a home brew competition. They will have their traditional German meal, domino tournament, cornhole tournament, music, kid’s games and lots of fun! Mark your calendar and make plans to attend this fun event.
Holy Cross Lutheran
Holy Cross Lutheran will have their annual picnic on Sunday, Sept. 4, at the church picnic grounds.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will be held June 20-22 from 5:30- 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. This year the theme is “Superheroes of the Bible: Transformed by Faith.” Registration is online and will be open from May 9-27. Visit www.holycrosswarda.com to register.
Pork Steak Dinner
St. Paul Lutheran Church Adult Fellowship in Serbin is having a pork steak dinner on Sunday, June 19, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Only advance plates will be sold for $12 and all are to-go. If you would like to order a plate contact Susan at (979) 540-0854 or Sharon at (979) 540-7154. All proceeds will be going toward future church/ school projects.
Scholarship Available
The Texas Wendish Heritage Society (TWHS) appreciates the support given to the scholarship program. All Texas Wendish Heritage Scholarship funds are received through fundraising projects and donations. The TWHS scholarship program, is available to students of Wendish descent and encourages students to learn more about their Wendish heritage. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school for the Fall 2022 semester. The 2022-2023 scholarship applications will be available beginning April 19 online at www.texaswendish.org and on the Texas Wendish Facebook Page. The entire process is online and must be submitted digitally by the deadline of 5 p.m. on Saturday July 15. Holy Cross Church
Bible Study at Holy Cross Lutheran Church will take a break for the summer. Watch for a new study in the fall, contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com if you have any questions.
The sewing and quilting group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church meets each Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon, in the old parish hall of the church. Everyone is welcome to join them for a morning of sewing, cutting, laughter, fellowship and of course yummy goodies. You do not need to be a member of Holy Cross to join this fun group. The ladies still collect all cancelled postage stamps, these are trimmed from their envelopes and sold to collectors. These can be dropped off at the church office, or in the designated box in the hallway.
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Faith Lutheran High School has announced that Summer Camps are back! There are a variety of camps for youth. The ages listed are for grades next school year.
June 13-15: Basketball-Grades K to 8, $15 (Only grades 6-8 have spaces remaining).
June 20-22: STEM Camp-Grades K to 6, $30 (K-2 has two spaces remaining, grades 3-6 are full).
June 27-29: Art Camp. This class is full.
August 1-2: Archery-Grades 4 to 8, $15 (Mornings are full, afternoons have one space remaining).
