Faith Lutheran High Hosting Good Friday Bake Sale
Faith Lutheran High School will host its Annual Good Friday Bake Sale on Friday April 15 at the Classic Bank parking lot in Giddings. Cookies, pies, cakes, kolaches, cinnamon rolls, homemade noodles, homemade breads and more will be available from 8 a.m. till noon, or until sold out.
Bakers are needed to help make this event a success. Donations of all types of baked goods and homemade treats are welcome. You may drop off your donation of baked goods on Wednesday and Thursday April 13-14 at Faith Lutheran High School in Warda, at Medack and Oltmann in Giddings, at Schiavone and Bamsch in La Grange, or you can contact FLHS at (979) 242-2889 to make other arrangements. Your continued support is appreciated.
Holy Cross Bible Study
A new Bible Study at Holy Cross Lutheran Church will begin Sunday, April 3. The group will meet each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the church library. This study will be a short sixweek course based on the book “How Happiness Happens” by Max Lucado. Everyone is welcome to join, contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com by April 3 if you would like a book, cost of the book is $15.
Family Fun Night
Camp Lone Star will have a family fun night on Tuesday, April 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come enjoy dinner, a devotion, Easter egg dyeing and an Easter egg hunt. To register to attend go to: tinyurl.com/familyfunnightcls.
Egg Hunt
Camp Lost Pines in Warda will be the site of an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16. This is being organized by author Elizabeth Dettling Moreno, who is a new to the Warda area, donations and any help would be greatly appreciated. New Arrival
Patrick and Meghan Lange welcomed the birth of their son, Rylen Shawn Lange on March 21. Excited to welcome home his baby brother is big brother Rayden. Proud grandparents are Joyce Jenke and Gordon and Theresa Jenke.

Holy Cross Cookbook
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and the ladies at Holy Cross Lutheran Church have their cookbook for sale. These make great gifts and include favorite recipes from church members and several old-time favorites from long ago. The cookbooks are $15 each and can be purchased at the La Grange Chevron Station or by contacting Lisa Gay at 979-218-6000.
Sewing and Quilting
The sewing and quilting group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church meets each Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon, in the old parish hall of the church. Everyone is welcome to join them for a morning of sewing, cutting, laughter, fellowship and of course yummy goodies. You do not need to be a member of Holy Cross to join this fun group. Postage Stamps
The ladies still collect all cancelled postage stamps, these are trimmed from their envelopes and sold to collectors. These can be dropped off at the church office, or in the designated box in the hallway.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
Lenten Service
March 2 through April 6 begins our journey to Easter with Lenten Services held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Pastor Beck will have a special sermon series based on the book “The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis. The book is a fictional novel, written in the format of a series of letters from an experienced demon to his nephew, a demon in training. Each of the 31 short letters give instructions on how to trick, tempt and mislead a Christian away from the faith. Lewis wrote the book as an apologetic for the faith, showing us an examplein-reverse of how to stand up to temptation. Topics that will be covered on Wednesday services are “The Power(lessness) of Prayer?” and “The Scheme Against The Self ”.
Easter Services
Palm Sunday will be April 10. Maundy Thursday worship is Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. Good Friday worship is Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday services will be Sunday, April 17 with sunrise service at 6:30 a.m., breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Festival worship at 9 a.m. and the Sunday School/Easter Egg hunt at 10 a.m.

Faith Lutheran High School
Six FLHS students participated in the NASP State Archery Competition last week in Belton, Texas. They each did very well, final results will be announced next week.
Everyone is invited to the weekly Chapel Worship Service held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
New student registration for the 2022-2023 school year is underway. Two new students have already enrolled. If you are interested in scheduling a shadow day for prospective students contact the school at 979-242- 2889 to experience what FLHS is all about.
