Extension Office Hosting Annual Crops Tour Thursday, Joost Farm Tour Included

The annual Crops Tour is an educational event for anyone who is interested in row crop production. The tour will be held on Thursday. June 18 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange. Registration is from 8-8:30 a.m. and will conclude about 1:30 p.m.

There will be multiple speakers this year: Dr. Josh McGinty, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Agronomist, Dr. Jose Santiago- Gonzalez, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Entomologist, Dr. Mark Welch, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension - Economist, Dr. Mark Matocha, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension - Ag & Environmental Safety, and Carlie Martin, Farm Service Agency - County Executive Director. Three CEUs will be offered (1 general, 1 integrated pest management and 1 laws & regulations).

The Crop Tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the welcome and then travel to Joost Farm. We will return to the Fayette County Agricultural Building to continue the program. There is no charge for the program but please RSVP to the Fayette County Extension Office at (979) 968-5831 by June 15, so we can adequately prepare for lunch.
