Arts for Rural Texas proudly presents Emerging Artists, an annual youth art competition and exhibition that showcases the creativity and talent of rural Texas students. Held each year at the Ross Gallery in Fayetteville, the competition invites public, private, and homeschooled students in grades 6–12 to submit their original artwork for a chance to earn ribbons and a share of $5,000 in cash prizes.

Young artists are invited to submit work in a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, jewelry, sculpture, and fiber. Last year’s competition set a new record, with 99 entries submitted by 58 talented artists.

This year’s winners will be announced during the exhibition opening on Saturday, August 2. Four prizes will be given in each grade level, along with one overall Best in Show. The exhibition will remain on display throughout the month of August.

Entry is free, and the deadline to submit artwork is Thursday, July 24, at 4:00 PM. For competition rules, other important dates, and entry submission, visit www. artsforruraltexas.org/emergingartists.
