Ellinger VFD Elects New 2022 Officers
The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 2. They held election of officers and the previous officers were re-elected by acclamation. Officers for 2022 will be Dave Weishuhn-president; Brandon Karisch-vice president; Bruce Kubena-secretary; Ronald Polasek-treasurer; Larry Bartosh-chief; and Greg Hunger-assistant chief. The retired grass truck chassis was sold for $9000, and the equipment from that unit was installed on the new grass truck. Additionally a First Responder Course was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 7 at the Ellinger Fire Station.
SLM Lenten Worship
The Shared Lutheran Ministry Worship and Music Team have set the Lenten calendar. The congregations will gather for worship on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. (no soup suppers.) Pastors from the conference will have a pulpit exchange. That means a different local Lutheran pastor will lead worship and bring the message. Ash Wednesday is March 2 and St. John Lutheran in Ellinger will host worship at noon; St. Paul Fayetteville at 6:30 p.m.; and the 6:30 p.m. service will be livestream on Facebook. Midweek services will rotate among the four churches of the SLM as follows: March 9-Warrenton at 6:30 p.m.; March 16-Rutersville-6:30 p.m.; March 23-Fayetteville-6:30 p.m.; March 30-Ellinger-6:30 p.m.; April 6-Warrenton-6:30 p.m.; Maundy Thursday-April 14-Rutersville-6:30 p.m. Good Friday worship will be as follows: April 15-Ellinger at noon; and Fayetteville at 6:30 p.m. Easter services will be at all four churches at their regular times.
SLM Call Committee
The Shared Lutheran Ministry has begun the Call Process to obtain a new pastor. Members of the Call Committee are as follows: Ellinger-Sheila Brugger, Sharon Fritsch, and Gladys Koehl; Fayetteville-Ruth Noska, Jerry Brown, Debbie Lincke, and Betty Gail Guthmann (alternate); Rutersville-Brandon Karisch, Kelsie Hrbacek, and Christy Noak; Warrenton-Dawn Moore, Donna Wessels, and Judy Pieper.
SLM Officers Elected
SLM officers elected for 2022 are: Kyle Hartmann-president; Annette Richards-vice president; Dawn Moore-secretary; and treasurer-Carolyn McCrory. A council retreat has been scheduled for Feb. 12 at St. Paul Fayetteville.
St. John Lutheran Church
St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger held its monthly meeting in January. Elections were held: Sharon Fritsch was elected president, Leona Parks-vice president; Gladys Koehl-secretary. The minutes and financial reports were presented and approved. Repairs for the cross lights is in progress, an audit committee was formed, and JR Koehl will replace Lucille Koehl on the bank signature card.
St. John Rutersville
St. John Rutersville elected its council officers as well. Phyllis Fritsch-president; Christy Noak-vice president; Carissa Karisch-secretary; and Laurie Karisch-treasurer. SLM representatives will be Kyle Hartmann and Laurie Karisch.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.
Ellinger City Council
The Ellinger City Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24.
Ellinger Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its next regular monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station. All members are welcome to attend.
