Ellinger Mayor Proclaims Flag Day
ELLINGER News
Ellinger Mayor Matt Mikulenka signed a proclamation presented by KJZT Family Life Society 41 of Ellinger designating June 14 as National Flag Day in Ellinger. Mayor Mikulenka and Society members commemorated the history, significance, and symbolism of the American flag as an emblem of freedom, unity, and patriotism and gave honor to the sacrifices of many throughout our country’s history who protected our country’s ideals of liberty and justice.
Graduates
Chance Konvicka and Mattie Konvicka of Ellinger recently graduated from high school and college respectively. They are children of Matt and Naomi Konvicka and grandchildren of Louis and Margie Konvicka and Nina Faye Blaha.
Chance graduated from Fayetteville High School on May 7, 2025. He was awarded the Hawes and Prasifka scholarship and the Benjamin and Una Mae Krenek Memorial scholarship. While in high school he was the pitcher for the state championship baseball team and part of the basketball team that played in the state tournament in San Antonio. Chance is exploring different colleges at this time.
Mattie graduated from Fayetteville High School and will graduate from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi on Aug. 9, 2025. While in college, she was in the athletic trainer association and achieved the dean’s list every semester. Her degree will be a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in pre allied health. Mattie plans to apply for graduate school and obtain a Masters in Athletic Training.
Ellinger City Council
The Ellinger City Council will meet Thursday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at the City Hall.
Shared Lutheran Ministry
Ellinger will not have worship on Sunday. There is a joint worship at St. John Lutheran in Rutersville at 10 am. This will be a celebration of Day Camp.
Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church
St. Mary’s Catholic Church mass is every Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m.
Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m.
Birthdays
Birthday wishes to the following June celebrants: Ridge Wessels-21, Riley Longobardi- 24, Carissa Bartosh Karisch-25, Tatam Smidovec and David Michalsky-27, and Diana Young-29.
