Election Night

Fayette County Elections Administrator Terri Hefner said the vote counters ran into a delay early in the evening.

“Primary elections are always the most complex elections because you have to do two of everything for the two parties,” Hefner said. “It makes it a little long and drawn out.

“Overall, everything went well,” she added. “We love our new office (in the Meadows Building on Ellinger Hwy. in La Grange). It’s an adjustment for the public to get used to it but it’s a great place to conduct early voting and a great place to secure the ballots. We have cameras, a burglar alarm, and a secure room to store the ballots. It’s a really secure place to keep everything.”
