Drugs Found Stuffed Inside Beaver Plushies

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports that on July 31 at approximately 1:10 a.m., Deputy Cody Williams conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 10 east of Flatonia for a traffic infraction.

The report said the driver consented to search. During the search, Williams detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Williams located beaver plushies in the rear seat. When Williams felt the plushies, he detected packages inside and observed the plushies to be re-stitched. The stuffed beavers were found to contain packages of marijuana and ecstasy.

After the discovery of the drugs, the driver, Lugene Davis Jr., 47 of San Antonio, stated he was suffering from chest pain. EMS was dispatched to the location and transferred Davis to a local hospital for treatment.

The marijuana and ecstasy was seized and a warrant will be issued for Davis. The marijuana weighed over two pounds.
