Deputy Makes Several Arrests Over Weekend
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that Deputy Austin Moore made several arrests over the weekend.
On Friday, Feb. 25 at approximately 7:43 p.m. Deputy Moore was dispatched to an address in the St. John area in reference to a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, a female subject was arrested for terroristic threat of family/household.
On Saturday, Feb. 26 at approximately 12:40 p.m. Deputy Moore initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on FM 609 in Flatonia. After further investigation, Martha Canales, 36 of Waelder was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Canales was also wanted on a felony warrant out of Colorado County for evading arrest detention with a motor vehicle. Canales was charged with possession of a controlled substance and the warrant.
On Sunday, Feb. 27 at 11:59 p.m. Deputy Moore initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Hwy. 77 at the Fayette County fairgrounds. After further investigation, the driver, 18 year old Mitchell Schulze of La Grange, was arrested for a first degree felony amount of codeine. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also located inside the vehicle.
