Deputies Make Several Arrests Last Weekend

Numerous arrests were made over the weekend by Fayette County Deputies.

On Friday, March 25, at approximately 6:45 pm, Deputy Michael Krenek was working security at the Antique Festival when he observed a subject who he knew to have an active felony warrant out for his arrest out of Fayette County. The male subject identified as Diego Castillo, was placed into custody for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.

At approximately 10 p.m. Sgt. Ryan Meagher and Deputy Orlando Buitron observed a male subject at a place of business in Warrenton, who was extremely intoxicated. The subject identified as Benjamin Perez, 31 of La Grange, was arrested for public intoxication.

At approximately 10:10 p.m. Deputies Austin Moore and Holly Smith were dispatched to a disturbance just outside of Flatonia. After further investigation, Enrique Rodriguez, 64 of Flatonia, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Saturday March 26, at approximately 8:45 p.m. Deputy Moore initiated a traffic stop on FM 609 near Flatonia. After further investigation, the driver identified as Charles Kocian, 39 of Flatonia, was found to be in possession of cocaine and was arrested.

At approximately 11 p.m. Sgt. Meagher and Deputy Jared Michalec were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the La Grange area. Two parties involved in the disturbance fled into the woods prior to the Deputies arriving. Meagher and Michalec were able to locate the subjects in the woods and detain them. Both subjects that fled had active warrants out of Fayette County. Jonathan Zuniga, 31, of La Grange, had an active warrant for assault causes bodily Injury. It was determined that Zuniga hit his head on a branch while attempting to hide from Law Enforcement which caused him to go unconscious. The other subject identified as Rebecca Mills, 62 of La Grange had an active felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. The subject who called in the disturbance was found to have two felony warrants. Michelle Phillips, 43, of La Grange, was wanted out of Giddings for Forgery of Financial Instrument as well as a parole violation for the original charge of Fraudulent Use/ Possession of Identifying Information through Pardon/Parole of Austin. All three subjects were arrested.

Early Monday Morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sgt. Meagher stopped a Kia Optima on I-10 Eastbound at mile marker 668 for numerous traffic violations. After further investigation, one passenger was found to be wanted out of California for robbery with full extradition. Chance Wilson, 19 of Richmond, California was placed into custody for the warrant and is awaiting extradition to California.
