Dan Mueller Chosen as Fair Parade Marshal

Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller, who is in the middle of his fourth and final distinguished year as judge, has been selected as the parade marshal for this year’s Fayette County Fair parade.

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 5 and proceed down Colorado St. in La Grange past city hall and the courthouse square as normal. Fair officials said they have been assured by TxDot that the current road work being done at the intersection of Colorado St. and Highway 77 will not interfere with the normal route of the parade.

Mueller, who will be in one of the lead cars of the parade as marshal, is a 4th generation resident of the County. He attended St. Rose School and Bishop Forest High School in Schulenburg, and the University of Texas in San Antonio. He has lived in Fayette County all his life.

Prior to becoming County Judge, Mueller served Fayette County as Justice of the Peace for 28 years, presiding over criminal and civil cases. Mueller chose not to run for re-election this year.

For a lot of people Mueller is probably best known for his announcing over KVLG/ KBUK radio stations. He delivers the morning news, hosts ‘The Old Music Program’ on Saturdays and ‘Hymns of Hope,’ with his wife Vi, on Sundays. Mueller has been affiliated with KVLG/KBUK for almost 50 years and is currently part owner of the stations.
