Round Top Family Library (RTFL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Katey Crowley as its new Executive Director. Crowley brings more than 21 years of experience in public education and educational leadership, with a career dedicated to literacy, lifelong learning, and community engagement.
She will serve in a parttime capacity through the end of May while completing her current full-time role with La Grange Independent School District, transitioning into the full-time Executive Director position in June.
Throughout her career, Crowley has served in a variety of leadership and instructional roles, most notably as a Reading and Instructional Specialist, where she led campus- and districtwide literacy initiatives, professional development, program design, and data-driven instructional planning. Her background also includes experience as a certified dyslexia teacher, reading and math interventionist, instructional coach, and classroom teacher, providing her with deep expertise in supporting diverse learners and special populations.
Crowley has led complex initiatives across departments, managed instructional resources, coached educators, and partnered with families and community stakeholders to promote literacy and learning. Her work reflects a strong commitment to education, strategic planning, and building collaborative, high-impact programs.
A resident of Fayette County, Crowley has strong ties to the local community. Her children attend local schools, her husband serves as a first responder in the county, and her family has participated in and enjoyed the services and programs offered at Round Top Family Library for many years.
“I am honored to serve as Executive Director of Round Top Family Library and the community it supports,” Crowley said. “RTFL plays a vital role in our community by fostering education, connection, and lifelong learning. I look forward to building strong relationships, supporting existing programs, and helping the library continue to grow as a welcoming and vibrant resource for families in our county and surrounding communities.”
RTFL’s Board of Directors expressed enthusiasm for Crowley’s leadership, citing her extensive experience, community-centered mindset, and passion for literacy as key strengths she brings to the organization.
With Crowley’s appointment, Round Top Family Library looks forward to continued growth and innovation as it advances its mission to serve families of all ages through literacy, learning, and community engagement.
