The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is alive and active with numerous activities ongoing. The Tuesday Ladies’ Bible Study is very well attended and begins at 10 a.m. Area ladies are invited to come and join in the learning.

The SG2C regular services are held every Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts with some visiting to go along with the sweet Sunday morning treats. Following this fellowship time the worship service begins at 10 a.m. This is a time to come out and worship with a great group of Christians. If you are musically inclined, come and bring your instrument to join in the musical worship.

SG2C does have a children’s program and welcomes area kids to come and learn about the Bible. Chloe Murphy is leading the program that starts at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Come and bring your kids.

SG2C is planning a Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, May 16. The men will gather at 7:30 a.m. to enjoy breakfast together and share the scripture. All area men are invited to come out and see what SG2C is all about and maybe find their church home.

Out and About

Ron and Pam spent a few days on the road recently just to take a break from the routine. They packed up the dogs and headed for East Texas. Everything was green and hay pastures spread out for miles. They ended up the first day near Sulphur Springs which is east of Dallas. They stayed in a cute bed and breakfast and ate pizza for dinner and then headed home the next day by a different route. Their old hobby of checking out Texas County Courthouses sent them down some interesting back roads and they collected a few new historical sights. The two days was just the break they needed.

Weather Changes

Thursday morning turned cooler after some rather warm days. Rain is in the forecast for the future and is much needed. The grass has been growing and looks really green. The roadsides have not been mowed by the highway department yet and the grass is getting tall. Take care driving and watch for wildlife, especially hogs. A number have been hit and can cause some major damage to a vehicle.

School Out

Flatonia ISD is gearing down the school year with the last day being May 14. Buses will still be running till then. Afterwards the kids will be out and about for the summer.
