Mark your calendars for Oct. 4 for the SG2C’s Fall Festival. The planning is well underway with lots of fun and games on the agenda. There will also be a calf give-away. Here’s your chance to win a beautiful Herford cross heifer born Jan. 25, 2025. With the price of cattle currently, this could be a great gamble for your money and it helps a great little church. Contact any SG2C member or contact SG2C through their Facebook page. The drawing will be held immediately after the Fall Festival.

Everyone is always welcome on Sunday mornings at SG2C beginning at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and fellowship and then at 10 a.m. the morning worship service begins. Stop in and see what all the excitement in Muldoon is all about.

Rain in Area

The Muldoon area was blessed with rain once again on the first Monday of August. Most of the Muldoon area received an inch of rain, some spots more than others and with the rain came some much cooler air. This made for a pleasant day. It did not take long for the moisture to soak in and everything to green back up.

Temperatures over the past week has been hot with temps hitting around the century mark, so the rain cooled temps in the upper seventies and lower eighties were a welcome change.

School Starting

With the month of August comes the beginning of school for the youngsters in the area. Most schools have started and this means the buses are running and kids are hanging out by the road early in the morning and getting off the bus in the afternoon. Please slow down and watch for the students who are getting on and off the buses. Do not pass a bus with the lights flashing.

This also will mean that there will be students driving to school or a really early practice. Please take the changes to the traffic pattern and the addition of students and teachers moving around into consideration as you are driving in the area.

Celebrates Birthday

Ron and Pam Knotts were recently invited by Pam’s brother and his wife, Ray and Christy Langenberg to a special dinner party celebrating Ron’s 78th birthday. They met in downtown Bastrop at 602 Brewing Company and started the evening with a toast to lots more birthdays. Dinner was delicious followed by several desserts including fancy cheesecake and bread pudding. The restaurant atmosphere was pleasant and the perfect set up for several hours of storytelling and vacation stories. The evening concluded with plans for a future birthday trip to Spain.
