Courthouse Window Restoration

    Courthouse Window Restoration

The Fayette County Courthouse windows need some attention. It’s been 20 years since the massive Courthouse restoration took place, and John Hindman of Red River Restorations said the windows are starting to show some wear. On the west side of the courthouse, intense sunlight has degraded the finishes, allowing water to intrude. Hindman, pictured above with a small demonstration window frame, spoke to the Commissioners Court at the July 25 meeting about a possible window restoration project. It would take hundreds of thousands of dollars to restore all of the windows. Commissioners discussed different options for tackling the problem. Commissioners instructed county staff to investigate possible grants to help pay for the project. They took no action at the meeting. Photo by Andy Behlen
