Courthouse Music Series Returns to Fayetteville

Music has played an important role in the history and personality of Fayetteville, and the historic courthouse and town square have played supporting roles in providing a family-friendly venue for many community and music events over the years. These roles are combined with the bi-annual Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series.

The Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series, presented by Arts for Rural Texas, returns this October with live acoustic shows every Tuesday evening on the historic courthouse square in Fayetteville.

“We want to encourage people who are in the area for the antiques show to come and enjoy what Fayetteville has to offer. That’s one reason we chose to have the music series in the months of October and March. Plus, those two months tend to have pleasant weather in this part of Texas,” said event organizer, Sandra Borne.

October’s shows are slated from 6-7:45 p.m. on Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. Jimmy Davis and Bonnie Montgomery will kick off the series on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Other artists include Zack Walther, a ladies bluegrass trio called Sugartree, Tony Kamel, and Scott Sean White.

“We encourage people to bring their sports chairs and picnic dinners or support the restaurants on the square. Borne said.

Mayor Mike Stroup added, “Fayetteville residents really look forward to these Tuesday night concerts at the courthouse. ARTS does a great job of procuring excellent musicians of various genres.”

Attendance to the show is free, but there are family and corporate sponsorships available. One of the reasons this event was created was to raise money for the Fayetteville Courthouse Preservation Fund. Monies left over after paying the artists and for any advertising will be presented to the city of Fayetteville in the form of a check at the 2025 ARTWalk.

The event is sponsored in part by Fayette County Record, Fayetteville Propane, and Mary and Evan Quiros. For more information or to inquire about sponsorships, please call Sandra Borne at (512) 971-3901.
