Legendary actors John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart combined to make “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance” one of the most beloved western movies ever.

Now locals will put their spin on the gritty tale of good versus evil.

Fayette County Community Theatre will put on the iconic show in an iconic venue, The Fair Pavilion, Nov. 8, 9 and 10.

“This movie is my favorite Western of all time,” said Kyle Hartmann, who is directing the play. “My passion for Westerns comes from my uncle Glen Hartmann, and it is a dream come true to be able to dedicate this show to him. He passed away in 2020. It’s an honor and privilege to be able to direct this and to be able to share my love and passion and joy of Westerns with our community.”

Will Martin is the assistant director. Jimmy Helms has donated some of his authentic western props to the production.
