Community Theatre Presents ‘The Curious Savage’
The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) presents The Curious Savage by John Patrick Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m. with a matinee performance on Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m.. The Curious Savage is the story of an elderly widow named Mrs. Ethel P. Savage and the $10 million inheritance left to her by her late husband. With the money, she decides to help people pursue what her three stepchildren call “foolish dreams.” To prevent their stepmother, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters. While there Mrs. Savage meets the gentle residents and finds them to be her true family. The Curious Savage is a warm comedy that compares the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of so-called “normal people.” Ashley Gaas and Garrett Reavis co-direct this show performed by eleven area actors. “Directing this crew has been an absolute joy,” declares Reavis. “It’s been so incredible to see my vision come together and Ashley and I are so excited to share this show with the public.”
Gaas encourages everyone to attend and support the actors’ and crew’s hard work. “We really have some amazing talent in Fayette County and the surrounding areas.”
