Community Theatre Brings Theatrical Drama, ‘Agnes of God,’ to the Stage

The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present “Agnes of God” on June 27, 28, and 29 at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange, Texas. Written by John Pielmeier, this dramatic mystery is thought-provoking, challenges beliefs, and asks where does faith end and reason begin? The heart of the story is three women each confronting their own truths in the aftermath of an unthinkable event. As the lines between psychology, spirituality, and morality blur, Agnes of God invites the audience to wrestle with big questions about innocence, guilt, and the nature of miracles. This production stars local talent Ellen Hardin, Heather Barthelme, and Emily Hudson. In these roles, the actresses are challenged to portray each of their character’s emotional layers and intellectual depth. This play is recommended for mature audiences. “When I first encountered Agnes of God, I was struck by its haunting script,” comments Director Julie Couch.

She continues that the script also poses some profound questions that will keep the audience thinking well after the performance. Couch says, “Bringing this story to life has been both a challenge and a privilege. I hope (the audience) leaves the performance not with answers, but with a renewed sense of wonder and empathy.” Showtimes will be Friday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 29 at 3 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20 and discounts are available for senior citizens.
