Community Invited to Annual Serbin Church Picnic Celebration

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin will have their Annual Church Picnic on Sunday, May 24. English worship service is at 8:30 a.m. Barbecue sold by the pound only (boneless beef, pork and chicken) from 9 a.m. until sold out. The Ladies Aid stand will sell sides of potato salad, beans, noodles and pastries of all kinds. They will also have a bake sale of home baked and canned goods. There will be a silent auction as well. The Youth hamburger stand will be open from 4 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Activities include a 2 p.m. baseball game between the Serbin Jackrabbits the Flatonia Wildcats, 1:30 p.m.-Children’s School Program, 2 p.m.-Children’s booths and games, 2:30 p.m.barrel train rides for the kids. The washer pitching tournament will follow the baseball game. Entertainment by the Czech Melody Masters will be from 3-8 p.m. The Texas Wendish Heritage Museum will be open from 10 a.m.5 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun.

Golf “Fore” Education 

Friday May 29 FLHS will host the Golf “Fore” Education Tournament at Frisch Auf! Country Club in La Grange. Registration is full, but they are still seeking gold, silver, and platinum sponsors. You do not have to play in the tournament to be a sponsor. Contact the school for sponsorship at (979) 242-2889.

BBQ Auction & Fundraiser 

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have their Annual BBQ Auction and Fundraiser on Sunday, July 26. They are looking for donations of quality auction items. Summer Camp registration, including their day camp program, for campers age 5-18 is also open. Register at www.camplonestar. org.

St. Paul Serbin VBS 

St. Paul Serbin will have Vacation Bible School June 8-12 with a Tropical Trek theme. Contact the church office at (979) 366-9650 for more information.

Holy Cross VBS 

Holy Cross in Warda will have Vacation Bible School June 15-17 from 6-8 p.m. The Adventure to Remember theme is “Are We There Yet?” In this VBS we will remember Moses - from the Nile to the Burning Bush ... from Plagues to Passover ... from Red Sea to Wilderness - and through it all, we see God’s love, protection, and salvation. Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Call (979) 2423333 if you have any questions. Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, June 18 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Serbin Jackrabbits 

The Serbin Jackrabbits will play Flatonia at Serbin on May 24 at 2 p.m.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
