Commissioner Reminds Judge Candidates of Power Limitations
Pct. 3 Commissioner Harvey Berckenhoff weighed in on the Fayette County Judge race at the Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting last Thursday, Feb. 24.
Berckenhoff made a statement during the public comment period at last Thursday’s meeting.
“I just want to make a statement to the four candidates running for County Judge,” Berckenhoff said. “I’m not talking to anybody specifically. You have to remember that the County Judge is just one vote on the court. There’s four of us up here. I want everybody to remember what you’re promising people. It’s not always as easy. I read a lot on Facebook and I’ve been following the forums. I want everybody to be aware. I’m speaking only for myself, not the other three commissioners.”
The four-way Republican Primary takes place Tuesday, March 1. Polling places will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
We’ll have election results at www.fayettecountyrecord.com Tuesday night and then complete coverage with candidates’ reactions in Friday’s edition of the newspaper.
