City of LG Community and Economic Development Welcomes New Staff

Hannah Garlick, City of La Grange Community and Economic Development Manager.
Caleb Parks, City of La Grange Main Street Manager.

This month the City of La Grange’s Office of Community and Economic Development is thrilled to introduce some of their newest staff. Looking ahead into 2022, both staff members will play a pivotal role within the community—supporting local businesses and promoting and stimulating economic opportunities.

Hannah Garlick

The City of La Grange is pleased to welcome Hannah Garlick to the Office of Community and Economic Development as of Feb. 7. Hannah was born and raised in La Grange, and is passionate about improving the place she has called home for 23 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University in 2020 and later obtained her master’s degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University.

As Manager of Community and Economic Development, Hannah is responsible for diversifying and fortifying the City’s local economy, supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses, increasing tax revenue, and most importantly improving the quality of life for those who call La Grange home.

Her favorite quote comes from Maya Angelou, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” Hannah can be reached at hgarlick@cityoflg.com or (979) 968-3017.

Caleb Parks

Caleb Parks is our new Main Street Manager for the City of La Grange, having started full time in November 2021. Caleb first moved to La Grange in 2009, just before starting High School. He is a 2017 graduate of Texas A&M University and a current Master’s student.

Caleb’s role with the Main Street Program is to promote and stimulate the economic opportunities in the Historic Downtown District while also maintaining the Historic features of the area. This often takes the form of various downtown events that many in this community know and love, such as Schmeckenfest and Trick or Treat on the Square. His work also includes helping building owners with historic building codes and working in conjunction with the rest of the department on grant opportunities.

He and his wife, Ashleigh, live in town with their dog, Dodger; their cat, Abby; and their turtle, Fish (yes, that is the name of their turtle). His hobbies include hiking and floating the river and his favorite sports team is the San Antonio Spurs. In his spare time, he volunteers with the youth group, St Paul LYO, at his church. Caleb can be reached at cparks@cityoflg.com or call (979) 968-3017.
