    City of Carmine Dumpster Days Slated this Weekend

The City of Carmine is sponsoring Dumpster Days on June 13 and 14. On Saturday, the hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Sunday, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. It will be located at City Hall, 260 Luther Lane, Carmine. A truck load will be $25 and trailer loads are $50. You must unload yourself.

This is for Carmine residents only with proof of residency.

Prohibited items include tires, household hazardous waste such as paint, oil, chemicals, and pesticides, refrigerators, and E-waste such as computers, monitors, and household electronic items with internal components like mercury and other heavy metals.

New Hours for Recycling 

Beginning June 18, there will be new hours for the recycling collection trailers at the Carmine Hall. Personnel will be there in the morning from 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m., still on Thursdays.

Accepted are clean No. 1 and 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please note that the clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. Also, numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.

Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans may also be brought. Attendants are available to help unload.

Chamber Casino Night

 The Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Casino Night on Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Carmine Hall beginning at 6 p.m. The theme will be “Stars & Stripes,” celebrating 250 years of America. A chicken-fried steak meal by Gary Goebel will be served.

A table for eight is $600 and includes eight meals, wine and beverages, starting chips, and promotion at the event. Individual tickets are $75 each. For more information, please contact Courtney at (512) 983-1115 or Marlene at (979) 451-1507.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine ISD will host a variety of sports camps throughout the summer.

Go to the rtcisd.com web site for detailed information.

The RT-C administrative offices will be open May 28Aug. 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Offices will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday on June 29-July 5.

Bingo at Ledbetter 

The next Bingo party in Ledbetter will be on June 21, which is the third Sunday, due to the Ledbetter Homecoming celebration being on the second Sunday. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. with games to be played from 2-4 p.m. A fivedollar card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game.

Snacks and drinks are available for a donation.

Food Pantry in Ledbetter 

The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be in the parking lot of Waldeck Lutheran Church on June 20 from 10-11 a.m. The location is near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145.

Food distribution will be drive-thru method. Clients need to clean out the back seats, trunks, and truck beds to make room for the boxed food. It is for Fayette County residents.

MLLC News 

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 14-18 from 5:30-7:45 p.m. with the closing program on June 21 during the 10 a.m. worship service. The theme is “Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God.”

Meals and snacks will be provided each evening. It is for ages 3 through sixth grade. Older children may serve as helpers.

Senior Citizens meet on Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission & Ministry Building.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Third Sunday after Pentecost, is Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor. The Noisy Offering will be received.

Senior Citizens 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the fellowship.

Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10 which comes to $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. To sign up, come by on any Wednesday morning to fill out the paperwork.
