Chief Brenek Reports on February Activity

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Feb. 9-13.

Accident

On Feb. 11, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 1000 block of Paulus for an accident.

Aggravated Assault

On Feb. 9, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1100 block of Bohlmann for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On Feb. 10, Powe responded to the 100 block of Black Street for a subject displaying a firearm while arguing with another before a physical altercation.

Criminal Mischief

On Feb. 12, Officer Jeffrey Whited responded to the 600 block of Upton Avenue for criminal mischief.

Civil Matter

On Feb. 9, Whited spoke with complainant regarding a civil matter.

Disturbance

On Feb. 10, Vincent was dispatched to the 300 block of Summit regarding a disturbance.

Lost/Found Property

On Feb. 9, Whited received a call from individual they had found a wallet and wanted to turn it in at the police station. Officer located the owner of the wallet and returned it to him.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle On Feb. 11, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 400 block of West for a suspicious person going through the reporting party’s backyard.

On Feb. 12, Powe responded to the 40 block of N. Kessler for a suspicious male at the Whataburger making her feel uncomfortable in the parking lot. Upon arrival officer was unable to locate anyone.

Sexual Assault

On Feb. 9, Powe while investigating another incident in the 100 block of Black Street, claims of a sexual assault surfaced.

Traffic Hazard

On Feb. 10, Vincent responded to the intersection of Highway 77 and I-10 to help with traffic control.

Traffic Stop

On Feb. 9, Powe stopped a driver in the 900 block of Eilers for detective left brake light. A search was conducted, and a small amount of marijuana was located and destroyed. Driver received warnings for defective brake light and failure to display driver’s license.

On Feb. 10, Officer Reyden Svatek stopped a driver in the 1400 block of S. Kessler for driving without lights when required. A verbal warning was given.

On Feb. 10, Officer MD Krenek stopped a driver in the 500 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.

On Feb. 10, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.

On Feb. 11, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Citation issued for going 35 in a 25-school zone. Warning for expired registration.

On Feb. 11, Vincent stopped a driver in the 300 block of Bucek for expired registration. Citation issued for expired registration and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
