CDA Welcomes New Members
Four new members of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA), Court Chromcik No. 1440 in Fayetteville were installed on Feb. 4.
City Council
The next City Council meeting is this Monday at 7 p.m. in the City offices. City Council meetings are held every third Monday of the month.
As a final reminder, the deadline for interested and eligible Fayetteville residents to submit an application on the ballot to run for Mayor or City Council is this Friday, Feb 14. City offices will remain open until 5 p.m. that day only for any submissions. City Council members with terms expiring include Cade Burks in Place 2 and Kelly Brooks in Place 5.
Book Fair
The spring book fair at FISD is coming to an end this week. Hours are Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. - noon on Friday. All proceeds benefit the school library.
Gillette Performance
This Saturday at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange, former FISD student Miles Gillette will be performing a piano concerto as part of his master’s degree program at Rice. All are welcome to attend this free event.
Gumbo to Geaux
Grab “Gumbo to Geaux” on Friday, Feb. 21 from the Fayetteville/Ellinger KCs. The chicken and sausage gumbo with rice is served togo only from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Hall located at 207 E. Bell St. The cost is $15 per 16 oz. serving. Tickets may be purchased from any KC member or by calling (979) 249-6003.
Food Drive
The Fayette County Texas Exes are holding a food drive to support AMEN Food Pantry. You can drop off nonperishable food items until Saturday, Feb. 22 at Orsak’s and Joe’s Place. Please help them make this event a success.
St. Paul Lutheran
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville
holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
