Court Annunciation No. 1962, La Grange, held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Msgr. Mazurkiewicz Center. Guest speaker was Kristi Bauer, Executive Director of CASA. She gave a very informative talk about the services that are offered by CASA in Fayette, Bastrop & Lee Counties. She also expressed that if anyone is interested, they are always in need of volunteers. Please do not hesitate to contact them if you are interested in volunteering.

The membership committee has been working very diligently in speaking to prospective members to join at the Reception of New Members which will be held at the Annual Family and Anniversary Dinner held on April 3 at the KC Hall.

The court has been very busy with projects to fulfill its promise of “Unity & Charity” within our Circle of Love spokes. Monthly, the court gives goody bags to members of Jefferson Place. The court also remembers any of its members who may be having medical issues with Get Well Wishes and also remembers any members who are celebrating special birthdays and/or anniversaries with a Spiritual Enrollment. The Scholarship committee has been hard at work preparing for the presentation of local scholarships at our Annual Family and Anniversary Dinner.

The court held its Fish Fry fundraiser on March 11 and while this is a fundraiser, the court also uses it as an opportunity to remember our homebound. The court gave 40 complimentary plates to homebound members and clergy. Several members and JCDA members and their mothers helped to deliver these plates.

Several members also participated in PLAT (Promoting Literacy Across Texas) by reading books to the classes at Sacred Heart School on Wednesday, March 2. JCDA members also read to the Religious Education classes at Sacred Heart. Court members also assisted in serving refreshments at the reception held after Confirmation services at Sacred Heart Church. Those who made their confirmation were presented with a Holy Spirit key chain.

Officer elections will occur in May, so gearing up for that, the nominating committee of Emma Proske, Peggy Supak and Beatrice Ortiz was unanimously elected.

Upcoming events include the court leading the Stations of the Cross at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, March 4 and the Financial Review will occur on Monday, April 25 just before the meeting.

The meeting adjourned after the closing prayer. The next meeting is Monday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m.
