Carmine Chamber Hosting Texas Mixer Feb. 28
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Texas Mixer on Friday, Feb. 28 at Busted Oak Cellars beginning at 6:30 p.m. It is located at 6195 Round Top Rd, Carmine, TX 78932.
The Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year will be awarded. There will be a cash bar and door prizes.

RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine girls’ basketball team defeated Runge to win bi-district at Flatonia on Feb. 10.
Counselor Appreciation Week was observed Feb. 3-7. The school is very grateful for Mrs. Foster for all she does at both the elementary and high school campuses.
The first shipment of new library books has arrived. Thanks to Mrs. Bellue for being awarded a $5,000 Junior Library Guild grant which allowed her to order these books.
Practice has started for the high school and jr. high Cubs baseball teams. High school begins play on Feb. 21 with a scrimmage at home against Moulton at 4 p.m. The first game for Jr. High is on Feb. 20. They play Brazosport Christian at Lake Jackson at 4 p.m.
Texas Exes Food Drive The Fayette County Texas Exes are having a food drive to support AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange. Nonperishable food items can be dropped off until Feb. 22 at Round Top Brewing & Kitchen and Round Top Real Estate. Please help make this event successful in supporting the local food pantry.
Pastor Tinker to Leave A farewell dinner was held for Pastor David Tinker and his family On Feb. 9 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. He begins service at Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek, which is near Seguin, on March 2. His last day for serving MLLC is Feb. 28.
Carmine 42 Domino Club The Carmine 42 Domino Club met on Feb. 5 at JW’s Steakhouse. After enjoying a delicious lunch, eight competitive games of 42 were played among the partners determined by drawing for positions at tables.
High-scoring partners were Jeanette Schoenst and LaVerne Albers with a score of 1914. The second highest- scoring partners were Linda Mattocks and Marlene Waak with a score of 1713 and they played one hand of 126. Avalda Pohl and Betty Porter played two hands of 84. Carol Naegeli and Myrt Meinkowsky also played two hands of 84.
Everyone enjoyed the challenging games and the delightful conversations.
This group will be ready for more games on March 5.

The CarmineVolunteer Fire Department drill night is today at 6 p.m. at the fire station.

Carmine Visitors’ Center The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot and Museum is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The next dates are March 7 and 8.
