Cannon Fire for Texas Independence Day

Morris and former Round Top Councilman Jerry Hinkel organized the celebration. Morris delivered a short speech entitled “The Road to Round Top and Texas Independence” just before firing the cannon, which took place at noon. More than two dozen folks gathered to watch the event – not a bad turnout considering organizers announced the event just a couple of days beforehand.
