Burglaries, Animal Complaints Lead Schulenburg PD Activity
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 14-20.
Burglary
On June 14, Whited responded to the 200 block of Heinrich for a burglary.
On June 20, Officer Byron Powe and MD Krenek responded to the 1300 block of Summit for a burglary.
Animal Complaint
On June 14, Officer James Whited was informed of a loose dog in the 500 block of North. Officer placed dog back in the yard and owner contacted.
On June 15, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden received a call of a horse loose on South Street. Officer found the horse and returned to the pasture and its owner. Owner was advised about keeping the horse contained. While out on patrol officer spotted the horse loose again. Owner was advised of a citation being issued for horse running at large. Owner was advised if the horse should be found loose again the horse will be impounded at the city pound and a second citation will be issued.
On June 16, Harden received a call from the 1200 block of Wolters for 4 small kittens that followed the caller home last night from the St. Rose Cemetery. Officer transported the kittens to the animal shelter.
Accident
On June 17, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for an 18 wheeler parked in the lot involved in a minor accident.
Criminal Mischief
On June 17, Whited was dispatched to the 1100 block of Bohlmann regarding criminal mischief. Individual advised some young kids broke some windows in the hall with a rock. The kids were described and located, and their parents were helping out with plates to go. Parents were advised and the boys admitted to doing it. Both boys were taken to the Turner Hall and apologized.
Harassment
On June 14, Castlleja was dispatched to the 200 block of Black Street in reference to possible harassment.
Illegal Dumping
On June 19, Krenek was dispatched to the 200 block of Heinrich for illegal dumping in the store dumpster. Subject was identified and he dumped several loads of used sheet rock, a broken wheelbarrow and other construction debris. Individual was asked to clean it up and advised it is a crime to dump trash in a dumpster that doesn’t belong to him.
Suspicious Vehicle
On June 16, Krenek was advised of a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of S. Main. The vehicle was registered to the owner of the house and was advised by owner it was broken down and not a road hazard.
Traffic Stop
On June 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for car with an expired registration (3-26).
On June 17, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for no license plate light. Driver received a warning for no license plate light and citations for no driver’s license and no insurance.
On June 18, Castilleja stopped a driver in the. 30 block of East Avenue for driving on the wrong side of the road. Driver issued a warning.
On June 19, Powe stopped a driver for failure to signal the required distance before turning in the 900 block of Wolters. Driver received a warning.
On June 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Herder for an unregistered motor vehicle. Driver received a warning for unregistered motor vehicle and citation for driving while license invalid.
