    Brother, Sister Arrested in Schulenburg After Argument

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the weeks of July 21-Aug. 3.

Terroristic Threat

On July 29, Svatek was dispatched to the 1100 block of JAGreen Street in reference to a brother and sister arguing. Dispatch stated the sister had a gun and was threatening to shoot the brother. Upon arrival the brother was arrested for a warrant and the sister was arrested for terroristic threat and a black pistol was seized.

Assault

On July 21, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1200 block of South Street for an assault report.

Accident

On July 26, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the intersection of N. Kessler and Summit for a minor accident.

On July 28, Officer Jesus Alvarez was dispatched to the 89 block of N. Kessler for a two-vehicle crash in the Dollar General parking lot. Both parties exchanged information.

Animal Complaint

On July 24, Animal Control officer Gina Harden was dispatched to the 700 block of Baumgarten on a buzzard issue.

On July 29, Animal Control officer Gina Harden drove to the 700 block of Baumgarten to vultures in the backyards. Birds were identified as juvenile black vultures. The vultures are very aggressive birds and both birds were shot and disposed of.

On July 31, Officer M.D. Krenek responded to the 700 block of Simpson regarding a found dog.

On Aug. 2, Harden responded to the 100 block of St. John Rd. about a dog at the location.

On Aug. 2, Harden was dispatched to the 100 block of St. John Rd. and spoke with property owner regarding a dog and fixed the run wire so dog could not get out. Officer Harden will stop by at lunch to make sure the dog had fresh food and water.

Criminal Mischief

On July 25, Officer Reyden Svatek responded to the 1100 block of Bohlmann Avenue regarding a fire set in the men’s restroom by the pavilion at Wolters Park.

On July 28, Krenek responded to the 77 block of N. Kessler for a criminal trespass warning to be issued.

Criminal Trespass

On July 26, Officer Jesus Alvarez was dispatched to the 100 block of College in regard to criminal trespass complaint.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle On July 21, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 200 block of N. Upton for a person that came inside the church and asked the church to pray for his father. Man went outside and started ringing the church bells. Officer was unable to locate.

On July 27, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 1400 block of Kessler for a suspicious vehicle in the driveway.

On July 27, Alvarez was dispatched to the 500 block of Herder for a suspicious person a foreign exchange student selling books. Subject was advised not to go through people’s backyards.

On July 29, Officer Reyden Svatek was dispatched to the 400 block of Anderson to a possible intoxicated male, upon arrival unable to locate. Store owner stated individual was banging on the window and stumbling around.

On Aug. 1, Krenek responded to the 700 block of Simpson regarding a suspicious person.

Traffic Hazard

On Aug. 1, Krenek responded to the 87 block of Kessler for a broken down vehicle.

Traffic Stops

On July 22, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of Kessler for speeding.

On Aug. 1, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of Kessler for a speeding violation.

On Aug. 1, Krenek stopped a driver for speeding in the 800 block of S. Kessler.

OnAug. 1, Krenek stopped a driver in the 400 block of N. Kessler for speeding Citation was issued.

OnAug. 2, Whited stopped a driver in the 40 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver had no drivers license and was cited for no driver’s license. The front seat passenger is the owner of the vehicle and allowed the unlicensed person to operate vehicle.

Civil Matter

On July 28, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton regarding a dispute.

Welfare Check

On July 25, Svatek was dispatched to the 600 block of E. I-10 for a male that was walking up the exit rap in front of the Texan. Upon arrival the man was lying in the grass with a skinned knee. He was dazed and confused. He advised he was driving a white and black 18-wheeler and broke down. He was transported to the Columbus Hospital.

On Aug. 3, Svatek responded to the 700 block of S. Main for a welfare check.
