Bridges to Receive Needed Repairs
The Texas Transportation Commission awarded maintenance and improvement projects in TxDOT’s Yoakum Districts at its Jan. 27 meeting in Austin. The contracts totaled $13,629,109.16 for state road and bridge work in DeWitt, Fayette, Jackson, and Matagorda counties.
Fayette County
ACME Bridge Company, Inc. of New Braunfels was awarded the $1,212,845.40 contract for bridge repair and upgrading railing on SH 237 at Branch Rocky Creek.
Fuqua Construction Co, INC. of Navasota was awarded a $1,498,742.87 contract for bridge replacement at Brushy Creek.
DeWitt County
SCR Civil Construction, LLC of Richmond won the $573,383.00 contract for bridge maintenance at various locations in Austin, Colorado, Wharton, and Matagorda counties.
Jackson County
Brannan Paving Co., LTD of Victoria won the bid with $3,684,181.70 contract for surfacing/roadway restoration on FM 616 from CR 325 (Inez Road) to FM 234 for a total of 4.313 miles.
Matagorda County
James Construction Group, LLC, of Baton Rouge, LA was awarded $6,659,956.19 contract for surfacing/roadway restoration on SH 35 for 0.437 miles West FM 1468 to 0.27 miles East FM 1095 for a total of 16.619 miles.
As these projects begin, motorists are urged to stay alert and reduce speed near and through work zones, obey all traffic control and be aware of workers and moving equipment throughout all work zones. Exact construction start dates on these projects and related traffic detours have not yet been determined.
