Brandi Chovanec Named This Year’s Fayette Co. Fair Volunteer of the Year
Brandi Chovanec has been selected as this year’s Fayette County Fair Volunteer of the Year.
Brandi is a longtime local teacher spanning two decades of service, with experience in early childhood through middle school education.
She has also been consistently active in community service, especially in Ellingerarea organizations:
• Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department – longtime active volunteer
• Ellinger Chamber of Commerce – supports fundraisers, including food and beverage sales
• Fair Association (seven years prior to becoming a member in 2016)
• Helped with MS 150: preparing burgers and selling beverages
• Worked concession stand and bar at Best Little Cowboy Gathering
• Assisted in the plant house during fair events before becoming a member “Her volunteer work spans food service, event support, fundraising, and hands-on help,” the fair said in a statement. “Brandi Chovanec demonstrates a deep teaching background with steady progression and versatility, longterm, hands-on volunteerism across major community events and organizations and a clear pattern of service, reliability, and community commitment, making her a strong and deserving Volunteer of the Year recipient.”
