Book Festival Accepting Author Submissions
Each year, the Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival at the Giddings Public Library celebrates Texas authors and their contributions to literature. Author applications are now open for the Nov. 18-19 festival. Submissions will be accepted until July 31.
“Word Wranglers” use words to portray people and places, to convey ideas, and to tell stories. In addition to honoring Texas writers, the book festival gives the community an opportunity to meet word wranglers and learn about the writing craft.
The library has hosted the book festival since 2006. Last year’s festival attracted hundreds of visitors and featured 23 Texas writers with books on a variety of topics, including memoir, travel, theology, fantasy, romance, picture books, science fiction, and poetry.
Applications are open to authors who live in Texas, authors from Texas, authors with a book about a Texas topic, and authors with a book set in Texas. The festival accepts books of any genre. Books may be traditionally published or self-published.
To apply for the festival, authors should complete the author application and submit one book for consideration to the Giddings Public Library.
Interested authors should visit www.giddingspubliclibrary.org/word-wrangler/submissions for more information or to complete the festival application.
