Bluebonnet Trails Community Services Hosts Rose Mobile Mammography Coach

On Feb. 10, The Rose, a Mobile Mammography Health Coach, provided a full day of life-saving mammograms through a collaborative effort of Houston’s The Rose Center for Breast Health Excellence, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services.

“Our goal was to remove obstacles that prevent people from getting timely screenings,” said Pam Johnston, Bluebonnet’s Integrated Healthcare Practice Manager, “By bringing mammograms directly to the community, we hope to increase early detection rates and improve overall health outcomes. Through The Rose we were able to offer tests through most insurances and no/low-cost tests for qualified individuals.”

“Breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women, and early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.” stated Johnston. The American Cancer Society recommends that women aged 40 and older receive regular mammograms to monitor their breast health.
