Bluebonnet Master Gardener Program Continues June 10
The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn educational program is a series of nine informational meetings designed to provide gardening or general landscaping information for homeowners. Fayette County Master Gardeners plan and present a variety of programs from experts in the area and across the state. This series is designed with the homeowner in mind; bring your lunch and learn about a variety of topics that help you have a more productive garden, prettier flower beds, or how to better understand your landscape ecosystems.
The topic this month, “Plumerias,” is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10 and the guest speaker is Master Gardener Faye Beery. Plumerias are small tropical trees with fragrant flowers (used to make Hawaiian leis). Although not native to the U.S., plumeria is not considered invasive. It is used as an ornamental tree in yards, gardens, and other planned landscapes. It can also be grown in a large container and overwintered in colder areas. It will not tolerate any winter frost.
Registration begins at 11:50 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. and the program lasts till 12:50 p.m.
The Lunch-N-Learn Series are held at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange. All Master Gardener Lunch-NLearn programs are free to the public and you are encouraged to bring your own lunch and drink. Light refreshments are available by Master Gardener hospitality hosts.
