    Blood Drive this Sunday in Carmine

A blood drive will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church this Sunday, Aug. 24 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Donors can go online at commitforlife. org to make an appointment with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center Donor Portal.

It is sponsored by both Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top and MLLC of Carmine. Please consider giving the Gift of Life.

RT-C School News 

The RT-Carmine JV and varsity volleyball teams host Giddings on Aug. 19 with the first game at 5 p.m. The team hosts Brazos Valley CHEA on Aug. 26 also at 5 p.m.

The first FFA meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.

Looking ahead, Jr. High Fall Baseball will begin play on Thursday, Aug. 28 when the RT-C team travels to North Zulch for a game at 5 p.m.

Fried Chicken Fundraiser A fried chicken dinner fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, sponsored by the Carmine Hall. Carry-out only is from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per plate. It includes a half chicken with trimmings. Desserts will be available for a donation to support the scholarship fund.

Shrimp Boil Fundraiser The RT-C Booster club is sponsoring its second annual Shrimp Boil fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 27. This year it will be held at the Round Top Rifle Hall, with Happy Hour beginning at 5 p.m. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. VIP table for 10 is $1,200 and a table for 8 is $700. Carmine Hall Giveaway 

The Carmine Hall is selling tickets for monthly drawings from September 2025 to August 2026. On the third Tuesday of each month, three tickets will be drawn – two for guns and one for a $500 gift card. The winning tickets will be placed back in for future drawings.

Winners must be 18 or older to win a long gun and 21 or older to win a pistol. All winners must be in compliance with federal firearms regulations.

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Chairpersons of Funeral Serving groups will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Other interested persons are welcome to come also.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship, with Holy Communion observing the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Phil Fenton serving as the guest pastor.

The Blood Drive is Sunday from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Domino Party is Monday at 1 p.m.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
