Blood Drive in Carmine a Great Success
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center had a very successful event on Jan. 26 with a total of 17 units of blood being donated. It was sponsored by Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine and Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top.
Thanks to all the donors, staff, and volunteers which made the event so successful.
Fried Chicken Meal
The Carmine Hall is sponsoring a fried chicken meal on Sunday, Feb. 16 with carry-out only from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. It includes a half chicken with trimmings.

Desserts will be available for a donation to support the scholarship fund.
Capital Area Food Bank
The Capital Area Food Bank will be at Waldeck Lutheran Church on Feb. 15 from 10-11 a.m. Volunteers will distribute and load preboxed food into each vehicle as the client drives through the line.
It is located at the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145. Clients need to have their back seats, trunks and truck beds cleaned out to make room for the food.
The pantry is available to all Fayette County residents.
Carmine Chamber Mixer
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Texas Mixer on Friday, Feb. 28 at Busted Oaks Cellars beginning at 6:30 p.m. It is located on Round Top Road.
The Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year will be awarded. There will be a cash bar and door prizes.
A complimentary meal is served. RSVP is appreciated by calling 979-451-1507 Chamber members are asked to bring either a door prize or a snack.
RT-C School News
High school boys’ basketball team hosts Fayetteville on Feb 11 for their last district game.
Congratulations to the varsity girls’ basketball team for placing first in district.
Round Top-Carmine ISD recognized the board of trustees during School Board Appreciation month in January. Members are Clint Eilers, Calvin Krause, Al Gross, Michael Sacks, Jason Wagner, Carl Schoebel, and Brandon Pieper. They are very much appreciated for their service and commitment to the school district.
Deadline to file an application for a place on the ballot for a Round Top-Carmine School Board position is Feb. 14, 2025. To file in person, hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. For both in-person and mail-in, the address is 608 N Washington St, Round Top, TX, 78954.
Feb. 14 is the end of the fourth six-weeks grading period and students will be released at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17 is a school holiday for Presidents’ Day.
Carmine Cemetery Assoc.
At the Carmine Cemetery Association meeting on Jan. 26, it was decided to increase the price on grave lots. Lots still available in sections C, B, and A will be available for $400 until June 1. After that date, any graves bought in available sections will be $500 per plot. Contact Wade Eilers at (979) 278-3645.

The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at the fire station.

Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
