A blood drive will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Sunday, Aug. 24 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Donors can go online at commitforlife. org to make an appointment with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center Donor Portal.

It is sponsored by both Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top and MLLC in Carmine. All donations are greatly appreciated.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine FFA students collected $5,000 in gift cards and donated them to the Hill Country Flood Relief effort recently. Thank you to FFA advisor, Erich Schatte, and members for organizing this effort, along with the community, for the generous support they provided.

All returning eighth through twelfth grade RT-C students need to schedule a time to pick up their schedule and Chromebook and also pick a parking spot. Online registration must be completed prior to this at https://forms. gle/NZuACk8MCtTtnk79A and necessary paperwork must be brought.

Time slots are Aug. 4 3-5:30 p.m.; Aug. 5 - 8-8:30 a.m. and 1-5 p.m.; Aug. 6, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-3:30 p.m.; and Aug. 7 - 1:30-4 p.m.

Back to school Welcome Walk will be held on Aug. 6.

Incoming seventh graders and new students meet from 5-6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Athletic meeting and coach introduction will be in the gym from 6-6:30 p.m. At least one parent needs to attend for new athletes only.

Returning eighth through twelfth graders meet from 5:30-6 p.m. to pick up their schedules and meet their teachers. Parent Portal for online returning student registration for the 2025-2026 school year must be completed prior to picking up the student’s school schedule.

The elementary school Back to School night will be held on Aug. 7 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

A Title 1 meeting is at 5:30 p.m. in the library. At 6 p.m., fourth, fifth, and sixth grade parents meet in the cafeteria. Supplies should be bagged and labeled with the student’s name. They may be dropped off on appropriate grade level tables in the cafeteria.

Pre-K to third grade students’ bags with supplies may be left in the rooms.

Evie and Me Cookies will be available from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the parking lot.

Round Top-Carmine ISD is taking proposal bids for the house at 406 Centennial ST, Carmine, TX 78932, to be moved. The proposal must also include site clean-up after the house is removed, and plans to obtain any permits that will be required for the project. Site viewing must be scheduled with the superintendent by calling (979) 9666116. Proposal bids must be turned in to the elementary office at 608 N Washington St., Round Top, TX 78954 by Aug. 8, 2025.

Teacher workdays are scheduled for Aug. 4 and 12. Professional Development days are Aug. 5-8 and 11. Classes for the 2025-2026 school year begin on Aug. 13.

RT-C Booster Club Fundraiser Mark your calendars for the second annual Shrimp Boil fundraiser, sponsored by the RT-C Booster Club. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 at a new location, the Round Top Rifle Hall, beginning at 5 p.m. with Happy Hour. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. VIP table for 10 is $1,200 and a table for 8 is $700. To purchase tables, email amy@bluebonnetabstract.com or contact (979) 203-4343.

Bingo for Seniors 

The next Bingo for Seniors will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ledbetter Community Center. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. It is for those 60 and older plus guests. A card for $5 covers all games with prizes awarded for each game.

Chips, snacks, and drinks will be available for a donation. MLLC News

Senior citizens meal pickup and dominoes is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

A breakfast for RT-C teachers is Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Weiss serving as the guest pastor. The Noisy Offering will be collected for Lutherhill Ministries.

Quilting for Camp For All is Monday at 9 a.m.

Recycling Trailers 

The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m.

Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
