Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) and Professional Artists of Central Texas (PACT) present Beyond Blue, a group exhibition featuring the work of 15 artists.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the ARTS Ross Gallery in Fayetteville.

Artists participating in the show include Joseph Barbieri, Joanna Burch, Karen Cruce, Daria Dega, Barbara Fontaine-White, Carol Fox Hendrichs, Hailey Herrera, Kevin Malone, Kurt Ritterpusch, Judi Simon, Susan Sistrunk, Chesley Smith, Susan Sterle, Melanie Stokes, and Charles Wallis.

These artists were challenged to take their art to a level beyond blue. Blue is more than a color.

To an artist, it’s the primary color on the palette that is most often used.

To a child, it’s the shortest crayon in the box at the end of a school year. Blue might describe one’s emotion, the chill of winter, or the vast depth of the sky. Would we be able to imagine a world without blue?

See how these artists go beyond blue at Saturday’s opening reception. The exhibition will be on view until October 18.

The Ross Gallery is open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. Visit www.artsforruraltexas. org for more information.
