Bernshausen Winner of Truck Raffled Off By Animal Shelter

Pictured are (front, from left) Kim Bartos, Board of Directors Treasurer; Teresa Brown, Executive Director; Dusty Bernshausen, winner; Betty and John Burkland, donors; (back) Andy Johnson, volunteer and Chair for the car show; and Frank Reichert, Board of Directors President.

Dusty Bernshausen was announced on Dec. 26, 2024 as the winner of the 1955 Ford F-100 truck raffled off by Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter (GJAS) and signed off on the title this past Tuesday. The staff, volunteers, and board members had a fun time showing off this beautiful truck, donated by John and Betty Burkland, to raise much needed funds for the upgrade in the canine kennels at the shelter.

The GJAS ‘Cool Cats and Sly Dogs’car show held on the square in La Grange was a tremendous success and hope to make it an annual event. The GJAS displayed this beauty all over Fayette County at festivals and other area events from August to the end of December 2024. As always, the GJAS is grateful to all of those involved in making this a successful fundraiser and hats off to all the supporters that purchased tickets.
