Bellville Little League Fundraising Vice President Indicted For Theft
The Austin County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) reports that a Bellville woman was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from the Bellville Little League.
The report said allegations were first reported to the Bellville Police Department, but due to the facts surrounding this case, the ACSO Criminal Investigation Division, in coordination with the Austin County District Attorney, took over the investigation.
“Claims were made that suggested someone was stealing money from concession stand receipts from the 20232024 baseball season,” the report said. “Investigators discovered through bank records and League records that more than $10,000 was stolen from the League.”
On Sept. 25, an Austin County Grand Jury indicted Ashley Hoffman Slater of Bellville for theft of property between $2500 and $30,000. The following day, ACSO investigators arrested Slater in relation to this case.
She was booked into the Austin County jail without incident.
Slater was the Bellville Little League’s Vice President of Fundraising for 2023-2024, according to the Bellville Little League’s website.
