A fire destroyed a barn on Blankenburg Ln. Saturday afternoon, June 28.
La Grange Volunteer Fire Department got the call around 2:48 p.m.
“When we got on scene the vast majority of it was on the ground,” said La Grange Fire Chief Frank Menefee.
Menefee said nothing of great value was stored inside the barn. There were some containers of used motor oil inside, which helped fuel the fire.
La Grange Fire Department responded with two tankers, two engines and eight personnel. They spent about an hour and a half extinguishing the flames.
Fayette County EMS, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Gonzales and Game Warden Shaun Bayless assisted at the scene as well. There were no injuries.
