Annual “You Matter” Beard and Moustache Competition Saturday

The “You Matter 4” Beard and Moustache Competition takes place this Saturday, Jan. 18, at Freyburg Hall.

The event will include prizes for the winners of 14 categories of beards and moustaches. There will be a live auction and drawing as well.

Proceeds benefit The Wellness Council, an alliance of concerned citizens, elected officials, staff from school districts, hospitals, clinics, social service agencies and governmental offices dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the citizens of the Greater Colorado Valley. The Wellness Council is especially focused on issues related to behavioral health.

Categories in the beard and moustache competition include Craft Whisker Battle, Kids (Limited only by their Imagination) 0-15 years of age, Freestyle, General Moustache, Full Beard Styled Stache, Goatee, Whaler, Sideburns/Chops, Whiskerina Creative, Whiskerina Realistic, Full Beard 0-4, Full Beard 4-8, Full Beard 8-12, Full Beard over 12, Finale – Best in Show.

Doors open at 2 p.m. The Craft Whisker Battle starts at 3 p.m. The competition follows at 4 p.m. Freyburg Hall is located at 5701 Freyburg Hall Rd., located off FM 2238 between Schulenburg and Flatonia.
