Animal Shelter Update

As of March 28, the total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter in 2025 is 338: 177 dogs and 161 cats in need. There are 86 animals in care: 59 dogs and 27 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to a rescue partner.

GJAS offers a discount voucher program to the citizens of Fayette County for the spay or neuter of family pets and a microchip special for Fayette County pets.
